In 2005, a ‘role model’ or ‘lead by example’ programme was launched in Eskom, and the implementation of this programme is according the Demand Side Management (DSM) ‘Application for Very Important Persons (VIPs)’ policy.
The energy efficient ambassador (VIPs) programme aims to create energy efficient demonstration projects. High profile individuals that are role models in their communities and involved in the electricity, energy and environmental industries are identified.
As part of this programme solar water heaters have been supplied and installed by Maxlite Solar
PV Components / WaterLite Solar Water Heaters at the following ambassadors:
1. Ms Phumzile Mlambo Nguka (Deputy President of SA)
2. Ms D Mahlangu (MEC)
3. Mr. Thulani Gcbasche
4. Mr. Mongesi
5. Mr. Valli Moosa
These installations were executed according to the specified scheduled dates, without any delays
or complaints.
